Stories That Heal | November 27, 5:30-8:00pm

In partnership with Good Shepherd Services’ Youth Justice Programs, 2017-2018 Hine Fellow Roxanne R Campbell presents an audio documentary listening launch and community discussion on the power of storytelling, mentorship, and youth advocacy. The discussion will be moderated by Tyisha Jackson, Supervising Parent Coach at Good Shepherd Services.

Campbell and Jackson co-produced Words from Trauma, a collection of short documentary audio pieces about previously incarcerated people living in New York City, which will have its premiere that evening. A panel of Good Shepherd Services’ directors and mentors focused on transformative mentoring intervention and youth advocacy will facilitate a rich dialogue with community members and young adults. The program includes an exhibit of work co-created by Roxanne R Campbell, 2017-2018 Lewis Hine Documentary Fellow, and members of the Good Shepherd Services Community.

Doors and listening stations open at 5:30pm; discussion at 7pm. Light dinner will be served.
