Photographs from the opening night of Mother, Me-a community photography exhibit featuring portraits of and by young mothers at Zoe’s Place, in collaboration with Hine Fellow Jenny Stratton-at the Cottage Gallery in Ridgewood, NJ. It was truly a special evening filled with emotion, storytelling, live music, photography, conversation and community. All donations from the event supported Zoe’s Place-a program of Children’s Aid and Family Services providing safe housing and services for pregnant teens, teenage mothers, and their children. Mother, Me is a participative storytelling project using photography, thread and writing to explore personal journeys, counter narratives, and ideas of motherhood.
